Oz Lotto’s $70 Million Jackpot: A Life-Changing Win in May 2025

One very lucky ticket has brought the whole $70 million jackpot in Oz Lotto draw, a life-altering experience for the one blessed player. This is the fourth-largest Oz Lotto jackpot in its 31-year history — and the second-largest lottery prize ever given out in Australia this year.

The drawn winning numbers were 44, 34, 45, 1, 46, 25, and 21, with the supplementary numbers 9, 14, and 16. Ticket sales spiked towards the end of the draw, with a peak at 6:55 pm — roughly 35 minutes to close time — when more than 4,100 tickets were estimated to have been sold in one minute.

The Lotto's spokesman, Matt Hart, said that 2025 had already had three Oz Lotto division one winning entries, which in total claimed $185 million. He went on to say that they had been also holding out for news of a fourth winner.

"We'll be standing by to contact any registered division one winner straight away after the draw, so we certainly urge players to register their ticket with The Lott Members Club. That’s the only way we can deliver that unforgettable winning call,” Mr Hart said. 

Hart recalled how past winners have responded to the life-altering news with everything from stunned silence to uncontrollable laughter and tears. “It’s impossible to predict how someone will react when they learn they’ve won $70 million,” he said.

The last time a $70 million Oz Lotto prize was on the line — in April — it was split among a 15-member Queensland syndicate, each walking away with more than $4.7 million. This time, however, one ticket alone has claimed the entire windfall.
